My in-home newborn sessions have the unique offering of both lifestyle portraits and studio like portraits I refer to as ‘Styled Newborn Portraits’. What’s the difference between the two styles?
Styled Newborn Portraits:
Last week I shared the styled Garden Newborn Portraits from a recent newborn session. When planning newborn portraits of just baby I like to bring aspects of studio portraits into the home. I have learned studio posing and wrapping techniques and have applied a few I love to my lifestyle newborn sessions. This allows me to pair studio techniques with the warmth of your home and the use of natural light for genuine, unique, and loving portraits of your newborn. I often include seasonal greenery and flowers in your newborn’s portraits and love doing garden newborn portraits during the warmer months.
Lifestyle Newborn Portraits:
This week’s session share is the lifestyle photos from the same newborn session! I absolutely LOVE lifestyle portraits when I am capturing newborns with their family. But I love providing BOTH the styled portraits as well as the lifestyle portraits of baby. Parents love them equally for different reasons. The lifestyle portraits are when I capture them with their eyes open, when they’re yawning and stretching. The portraits are very minimal with baby usually just in a diaper, and shows more of the genuine character of baby like all the adorable faces they make.
